When searching for the best firm to design and build its website update, Security Associates elected to secure INDiVO to create an online presence that would better help the company connect with existing and new customers.
Security Associates of Ft. Lauderdale is a family-owned, new construction, commercial security contractor certified by the State of Florida to design and install access control, CCTV, automated gates, intercoms and specialty electronics in the South Florida and Tampa Bay areas. Their old website, built on a proprietary code base, not only looked dated, but was also difficult to update. So new projects had not been added in quite some time.
To help make the website easy for the client to administer, INDiVO suggested the new site be constructed on the open-source CMS, WordPress. INDiVO devised a perfect mix of themes, plugins, and creativity to meet the client’s needs.
Gallery showcase of client work highlights new site
The main feature of the new website is the project gallery, where visitors can view photos by service or by project.
An easy to update gallery system allows the client to add project photos once and tag them so they automatically show in the services gallery. As INDiVO was building the website, we populated one project and added a few pictures to each of the services galleries. The site was so easy to update that, after INDiVO provided a quick user admin training session, the client populated the other three projects with captions, along with quite a few of the photos under services. This administrative simplicity helps assure the site content remains current in the future.
Extra measures of assurance
INDiVO built the site using industry standard techniques and adhered to WordPress development models to ensure that the website can be extended as needs dictate for future content and functionality. Toward the bottom of the home page, there is also a rotator that includes many of the leading manufacturers whose products Security Associates installs for its customers. In Florida, it’s against the law to hire an unlicensed contractor. As an extra measure of assurance for customers, INDiVO linked their license number in the website footer, to the Florida State Department of Business & Professional Regulation website where their license status may be verified at any time. In fact, on the license verification page, there is also a link to view any complaints (spoiler alert: there are none).
At launch, INDiVO provided the usual SEO assistance including 301 redirects and submitting the sitemap to the various search engines.
