WHERE WE’VE BEEN

In 1995, at the Internet’s infancy, Corey Maysles founded SourceNet – one of the first website development companies. In fact, we were doing digital marketing before Yahoo or Google existed. During our early years, at the request of customers to provide services that could help them connect with their customers, we expanded staff and services to include marketing strategy development, creation of brochures, ads, package design, direct mail, trade show exhibits and graphics, logos, billboards, multimedia programs, and more.

Our old website focused on the metaphor of a symphony to demonstrate the concepts of teamwork, commitment to excellence, and how the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

Then, in 2001, to better reflect the expanded scope of services we were providing, the company was rebranded and relaunched as INDiVO, a full-service firm providing inspired marketing communications. Over the next few years, we launched INDiVOMAIL a proprietary email marketing system along with programs that integrated CD/DVD-based multimedia with an online component to promote everything from real estate developments to spirits and sparkling water.

Our old designs, retired, but the concepts and teamwork remain.

WHY MAKE A CHANGE?

Over the last 5- to 7-years, we have seen a major shift in where our client’s customers are looking for answers to their questions. The digital landscape has changed along with search algorithms, apps, voice assistants, connected cars and, of late, augmented and virtual reality. Consider these statistics:

  • As of 2018, there were 3.5 billion intent users in the world (Source: Statista)
  • 98% of adults aged 18-29 are online in the US. In 2018, 97% between the ages of 30 and 49; 87% between ages 50 to 64; and 66% over the age of 65. (Source: Statista)
  • During 2019 it is estimated there will be more than 2 billion websites available on the internet. (Source: Indivigital)
  • 80% of internet users own a smartphone (Source: Impact)
  • The average mobile internet user spends 2.8 hours per day, online. (Source: Ezoic)

  • 80% of all social media time is spent on smartphones. (Source: Comscore)
  • 52.2% of all website traffic originated from mobile phones in 2018 (Source: Statista)
  • 79% of all smartphone users made an online purchase using their device. (Source: OuterBox)
  • Business-to-business ecommerce dwarfed consumer purchases in 2017 (Source: Shopify)

We introduced how the web could be used as a key platform for educating physicians around the world on how to use a blood test to better diagnose chest pain. We showed Magnivision how a patient could pick frame styles that match their face shape, from a website.

While some firms were building proprietary websites, INDiVO decided to use open source CMS Systems like Joomla and WordPress to make accessing the internet’s value more affordable.

These platforms also allow companies to expand a website’s features and functionality as their needs change, without having to start over. These platforms also make it possible for Clients to maintain their own websites, if they choose. We added managed shared and dedicated hosting services to provide Clients with better security and support, for both development and production versions of a website, as well as the assurance that core code and security patches would be implemented each month. Magento and WooCommerce ecommerce and catalog websites were added to our repertoire. That’s right, we were doing ecommerce well before it was a thing. Along with our web-based work, we continued to develop traditional integrated programs of print, advertising and trade show support to coordinate with what a client is doing online.

While we are still providing strategy development, integrated communications programs, traditional printed elements and even magazine ads, the vast majority of what we do for Clients, anymore, is digital. We decided it was time to not only refresh the logo and type style to be more contemporary, but also to return to our roots and acknowledge the scope of our digital work.

We’ve updated and upgraded, partnering with ActiveCampaign, Shopify, SEO, SEM, and SMM capabilities.

We have updated our email marketing system, INDiVOMAIL, which is now powered by ActiveCampaign – allowing us to deliver responsive emails, marketing automation and even SMS-based programs. We have expanded our Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Social Media Marketing (SMM) capabilities. Now that our identity is updated, we’ll be getting more active again on social media. Follow us on Facebook and LinkedIn.
